HOW IT BEGAN
Prior to the launch of Canberra’s Friendly Petsitter in 2014, Kristen was a social worker with several years’ experience in both private and public sectors. She began petsitting for friends and family many years before leaving the public service to concentrate on building Canberra’s Friendly Petsitter. She holds a current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
Within a year, Kristen found she had more business than one person could handle and began hiring petsitters to help her meet demand. She personally screens every potential petsitter, ensuring each carries a WWVP card, is a non-smoker and has experience with animals.
Canberra’s Friendly Petsitter is a professional and genuinely caring petsitting service launched in May 2014 by its’ owner and director, Kristen. It is a premium service providing a range of in-home pet care options.
As opposed to kennels/catteries, boarding facilities or “daycare” options, an in-home petsitter ensures your pets are cared for right where they are most comfortable – in their own home.
You also enjoy the convenience of knowing your home remains lived in and secure while you are away.
What makes CFP different?
- Your pets can stay in their own home and receive one-on-one care from a petsitter who stays overnight with them.
- CFP doesn’t just service part of Canberra. CFP services the whole of Canberra and Queanbeyan.
- Kristen and all her petsitters have telephone support and are comprehensively insured with public liability and worker compensation.
- Each petsitter is provided with a petsitting manual.
